CEED (Common Entrance Exam for Design) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The exam is held once a year, usually in January.
CEED is conducted for admission to various postgraduate design programs, such as Master of Design (M.Des.), offered by various participating institutes across the country. The exam is also used for screening candidates for various design and research-based positions in government organizations and private companies.
To be eligible for the CEED exam, a candidate must have completed a bachelor's degree in Engineering/Architecture/Design or equivalent, or a professional diploma in Design from a recognized university/institute. There is no age limit for appearing in the exam.
The CEED exam comprises two parts - Part A and Part B. Part A is a computer-based test that includes questions on Visualization and Spatial Ability, Environmental and Social Awareness, Analytical and Logical Reasoning, Language and Creativity, and Design Thinking and Problem Solving. Part B is a drawing test that tests the candidate's ability to sketch and draw.
Candidates who clear the CEED exam are eligible for admission to various postgraduate design programs offered by participating institutes across the country.
