XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur for admission to various postgraduate management programs, such as Master of Business Administration (MBA), offered by various participating institutes across the country. The exam is held once a year, usually in January.
To be eligible for the XAT exam, a candidate must have completed a bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. There is no age limit for appearing in the exam.
The XAT exam comprises four sections - Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge. The exam is conducted in a computer-based mode and is of a total duration of three and a half hours.
Candidates who clear the XAT exam are eligible for admission to various postgraduate management programs offered by participating institutes across the country. The final selection of candidates is based on their performance in the XAT exam, as well as other factors such as academic performance, work experience, and performance in the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI), as per the admission criteria of the institute they wish to apply to.

Eligibility Criteria:

- The total number of questions in the exam is 100.
- Each correct answer carries one mark, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
